FIREBALL MINISTRY Announce Two Fall Missions
September 20, 2005Having just completed a five-week nationwide tour alongside CKY, the Los Angeles-based hard rock quartet FIREBALL MINISTRY — whose new album, "Their Rock Is Not Our Rock", will be released on Oct. 18 — will return to the road next month for back-to-back fall tours.
Beginning on Oct. 9, the group will support OPETH — whose Roadrunner Records debut recently debuted at #64 on the Billboard Top 200 — for three weeks. The first two weeks of the tour will also feature Hydra Head recording artists PELICAN; the remaining shows will see Century Media cult heroes NEVERMORE in the direct support slot. On Nov. 1, FIREBALL MINISTRY will then join CKY in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the second leg of the Adio Footwear-sponsored "Rock Adio" tour.
"We're very excited about going out with OPETH, PELICAN and NEVERMORE, and about the possibility of making some new friends," says guitarist/vocalist James A. Rota II. "We're equally excited to be going out with our old friends CKY because the first leg went so well. It's great to be playing new material for people. We're very proud of our new record and hope it will inspire other people to have a good time."
FIREBALL MINISTRY — who will perform a Michigan show alongside JUDAS PRIEST this Friday — recently shot a video for "Sundown", the first single from "Their Rock...", their third full-length (and Liquor and Poker Music debut). Directed by Brandon Trost (JOSH TODD, OLD 97'S),"Sundown" — which Rota describes as being "in the vein of a classic rock video, one not to be taken ironically" — will premiere on MTV2 and Fuse next month.
Produced by Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and engineered by Mike Terry (BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB, ASH, HALFORD),"Their Rock..." — FIREBALL MINISTRY's first album featuring new bassist Johnny Chow (ex-SYSTEMATIC, MY RUIN) — will be featured in the November issue of FHM as one of "three new albums worth the money."
